Hello everyone my mother has received supplements in the mail "recommended to her" I would appreiciate any and all help, knowledge, sources experiences etc with regards to these products.
The first is called "cellan" or "cellular lean". It lists a website http://www.mycellan.com
I spent about 2 seconds looking at it but nothing about it inspires confidence in me.
It lists the following ingrediants per per pill:
"Vitamin B3 (Niacin) 25 mg
Chromium Nicotinate 100 mcg
"Irvingia Gabonensis Extract" 150 mg "Standardized to 7% albumin"
Caffeine 50 mg
Phenylethylamine HCI 15 mg
Other ingrediants: cellulose, gelatin."
"Irvingia Gabonensis Extract" is in italics and at the bottom it says:
"Irvingia Gabonensis IGOB 131 proprietary extract is a registered trademark of Gateway Health Alliances , Inc Fairfield California. US PATENT 7,537,790 and international patents pending."
It says "Capsules produced in an FDA registered facility in the United States" but does not say anything about purity, testing, quality guarantee etc..
The second product is labelled "Coleanse" "thin from within". It lists a website http://www.trycoleanse.com
I haven't looked much at it doesn't seem there is much there. Neither of these bottles have a manufacturer brand name other than their websites but have the same distributer address listed on the bottle. Both bottles and labels clearly come from the same source though no parent company is listed to link them other than the distributing address.
This product lists per capsule the following ingrediants:
"Proprietary Blend 450 mg" It does not give any indication of percentages only the following ingrediants:
"Chinese Rhubarb Root Pwd., Cascara Sagrada Bark Pwd., Bentonite Clay, Cape Aloe, Flax Seeds Pwd., Senna, Slippery Elm Bark, Wormwood , Black Cumin Seed, Olive Leaf Extract, Thyme Leaf Pwd., Garlic Extract 15:1, Organic Cloves Pwd., Peppermint Leaf.
Other ingrediants: Gelatin capsule"
Again no claims are made of any independent 3rd party purity testing.
I would appreciate any and all help anyone can offer regarding these supplements. Are these ingrediants/supplements legitamite herbal medecine or snake oil? Are they potentially dangerous? Are these companies scam artists out for a quick buck? I appreciate any help so I can determine if I should let her have them or throw them out.
Thank you
