yes, eyes are always related to liver. Also, can be kidneys playing a part. But definitely liver. The doctor sounds rather useless--this is always a problem with MDs: the tendancy to specialize;the parts and pieces approach, as if the whole body were not working together. It boggles the mind.

I would look into liver flushing, and liver-nourishing herbs, before embarking on a water fast. Would also use some kidney-friendly things like parsley infusions,and so on.
For the liver, curcumin (plain old turmeric) and milk thistle. If I were you, I might be having ground milk thistle seed everyday, in my food. It's quite delicate tasting, and very good for the liver.
