i have a random question on Magnesium....

What is the correlation of magnesium to the brain? I discovered today that taking some Liquid Magnesium Chloride helped alleviate this weird feeling ive been getting in my head. Its like a pulsating/tremoring/tight feeling i get quite often, and I seem to have been medicating this problem by eating Sugar and it would clear up, but without consequences. I would most likely get sinus pressure and cough up a lot of mucus.
