Verno,
this isn't a debate forum so I shall only reply this once.
Wikipedia is renowned for censorship of natural health information such as Orthomolecular Medicine, although I will give them credit for some of the information they have given on therapeutic fasting. In essence, its contributors know very little on the subject of fasting in comparison to the pioneers of Natural Hygiene, and not just Shelton, although he was their most experienced and main contributor to that knowledge.
"How extensive is my own research"?
Most members here going back over a five year period will know that I have had over 30 years worth of study in Natural Hygiene, and especially the fasting process. I have also undergone two extended fasts of 25 days and 30 days in the recovery from Leukemia, and which sparked my interest and goals in life.
"I know that ketosis is exactly how the body doesn't burn muscle".....................
is a comment I have never made, as ketosis is the process of fat-burning as fuel, and not muscle-burning for fuel. In fact muscles will supply glucose for their own needs on a fast but in a more localised way, as opposed to the Liver which supplies glucose for general bodily use. The body meets its glucose requirements on a fast by catabolizing or breaking down amino acids in muscle tissue, and in the process uses this within the Liver for gluconeogenesis, or the making of glucose during the fast.
On a 30 day water only fast a person will lose approx 1 to 2 pounds of muscle in protein-sparing (Dr Fuhrman MD.)
Anyway enough on the physiology.
Your reference: "that anyone can make themselves healthy by eating right and cleansing properly, that that's probably the root cause of everyone's problems"..................is so very true in many many cases and is not subjective at all. Contact Dr Joel Fuhrman MD about his Nutritarian lifestyle and how diet and cleansing can largely conquer most all disease except those that are genuinely of a genetic origin.

Heart palpitations are quite common for the reasons I have given in my previous post, and if these or any Heart "problems" are asscoiated with circulatory anomalies, then all the more reason the fast is needed. I suggest you actually read the article I gave you on the benefits to the heart and circulatory system, plus these short extracts from FASTING AND EATING FOR HEALTH by Dr Joel Fuhrman MD......
"Thorough therapeutic fasting a patient is able to reverse a cardiac condition quickly, without the need for invasive medical procedures. The results I have seen in patients using this approach has been spectacular." Page 111
"For a person with advanced cardiovascular disease, fasting can not only begin to reverse the damage caused by years of improper eating, but also rapidly decrease the risk of sudden death from a heart-attack or stroke." Page 115.
and so on and so on..........
Your comment that................
Organ failure basically is toxicity poisoning.
is partially true, but it can also be due to chronic nutrient deficiencies as when the fasting period has ended proper, and the starvation period begins. The figures you quoted from Wiki of 10% body fat and then starvation sets in in just not accurate. Fasting is much more than body fat reserves: it is also about other nutrient reserves as well.
"When was the last time I felt palpitating gas"?
In answer to that one Verno I would say just after reading your last post in this thread.
I'm only kidding my friend.
Chrisb1.
