Hello Phillyfly,
people will seem to dress up anything these days, including water, to make a fast buck. Such is the way of human nature I'm afraid. You only have to examine the sheer greed of Bankers, who largely got us into a global financial mess to realize this.
I usually replace the first letter of the word "Bankers" to more aptly describe these sort of people. Excuse me.

My thoughts on water ionizers/alkaline water?

A process called electrolysis is used to separate water into an acid and an alkaline form, which is then consumed for its alleged medicinal qualities.
However, I have my doubts about this process and for several reasons:

The purest water that Nature provides is in the form of rain and snow: water that has evaporated via heat and then forms clouds when cooled. It then condenses and falls to the earth; the "precipitation cycle" or water formed thru distillation, but unsuitable for drinking because of atmospheric and other pollutants.

Pure/distilled water is a very poor conductor of electricity, so the manufacturers of these ionizers specifically state that distilled water is unsuitable for this "ionization": it needs to be normal tap water with dissolved inorganic minerals (impurities) for the process to work.

Pure glacier water is said to be wonderfully healthy and is in reality, distilled water that wouldn't work in the machine either.
Genuinely pure water is neither acid nor alkaline. It is PH neutral, and guess what has a neutral PH?

Distilled water.!

Anyone is of course free to choose whatever water they like while fasting OR eating, but I have known for decades that our Creator knows best and cannot be improved upon.

In my view, water ionizers are manufactured just to make money out of a gullible public who will buy them.
