I just read Proudmomma's response to you and I second every word she says!!! She has a wonderful way of expressing herself, and her blog is great.
I am sick to hear that your daughter is struggling with her symptoms (which mirror mine almost exactly) at such a young age. I'm 40 now with 4 children, and it isn't easy at any age. I pray that her youth will help her rebalance fast. I am 2 years post removal and doing so much better, but it has been a long road, and I still have my struggles. But I am functioning well most of the time, and that is huge considering that I thought I was dying 2 years ago and that Christmas 2009 was going to be my last. My husband was mourning the fact that I was dying. But your daughter will finally start healing now that it's out. I remember wishing I could fast forward time during my first year especially which was so hard. Our symptoms seem to surge back during our periods and ovulation. We can feel better for a a couple weeks and then plummet back to sickness. But it does get better over time. If her symptoms started with the Mirena, then she will improve. During the hard times, keep reminding yourselves that it will get better, but it can take time for the body (especially the hormonal systems) to rebalance. Some people have improved very quickly however, and I hope this will be the case for her! I find it encouraging to come to this forum when I have worrisome symptoms just to run them by the amazing ladies here. It is so comforting to hear someone say that yes, they've felt this too. I am having a few weird things happening to me right now, but I don't feel too worried because it's probably Mirena weirdness (as I call it) and it will go away.
Did she test positive for ANAs or autoimmune markers? May I ask what her test results were?
Keep posting! I, for one, check this forum at least once a day.
Love,
Diana
