Well, as I said in this post, this is my personal experience with candida, and for me it has definitely been due to hyper-acidity. As I wrote, I am open to the fact that some people may be overly alkaline and that could also throw the body out of balance. But in my experience, and the people I have talked to on this message board and others, the majority of them that have candida seem to be overly acidic.
Would you mind sharing your sources of why you believe the small intestine to be acidic. I have done a lot of research on anatomy and nutrition and everyone seems to be in agreement that the small intestine should be alkaline. I know that some of the good bacteria in the small intestines produce different types of acids to help in the digesting of food, but just because these bacteria are producing acids, doesn't necessarily make the small intestine acidic.
I would also like to know your source that says candida thrives in an alkaline environment. There have been plenty of studies done on this; they are quite easy to perform, you probably even do it yourself at home with a few candida samples and some water of different Ph levels. It seems that everyone is pretty much in a agreement based on the research that candida thrives in an acidic environment. Honestly, I wasn't even really aware that there was any debate on this subject.
As far as the underlying cause of candida, I know the prevailing ideas that it is from vaccines, toxins, metals, etc. I'm not saying that I'm 100% sure about this theory, I'm just going with what has worked for me, and I do think it is all about bringing your body back into the correct Ph balance. But there is nothing easy about it. It takes a long time, lots of dedication, you have to find what works for you.
Thanks for your post; I am really getting some new perspectives on this. For the longest time, I have only been focused on curing myself, but now I really want to hear more about other people's experiences, maybe if I can help someone with a different point of view, maybe they can help me to understand something that I had a little wrong. I don't claim to have all the answers, only my personal experience and a lot of research.
