I agree with you totally. Your assessment of the situation is spot on, IMO.

I always tend to root for the underdog too, even if I don't agree with everything he's saying. Everyone has a right to their own opinion without being attacked for it.

As for the voting, I agree with you and I ignore it too. It seems that people don't even read the posts, they just vote for the person on their "side".
