Thank you for clarifying that.
Yes, weakness may occur for a variety of reasons, but the original query was about palpitations whilst fasting I believe.
Shelton had this to say re' palpitations while fasting...........
" Palpitation: "Pain in the heart" and palpitation of this organ are due to gases in the digestive organs. These symptoms are of rare development and are not dangerous, although they are usually the source of much needless apprehension on the part of the patient. Palpitation may be the result of "nervousness," fear or exertion............
AND...........
"Pain felt in the heart is rarely actual pain in the heart. It is usually pain in the chest. It may be due to gas, it may be of "psychic" origin, it may be of TOXIC origin. Unless it is accompanied with other symptoms that indicate heart trouble, it should be ignored. It is not serious and soon passes".
So palpitations are rarely if ever a danger signal and a readjustment of the body to either toxins, or to the Hearts own autonomous electrical system that this period of physiological rest provides, and accentuated or exacerbated by possible emotional disturbances such as anxiety.
The body will also self-adjust its metabolism while fasting into a lowered state, along with other animals who hibernate and go without food for extended periods of time, so the body will always adjust and adapt in this way.
It is debatable whether the cause of weakness is due to fatty-acid production as the main fuel supply over that of glucose while eating, as there are many many cases on record of an increase in strength during ketosis up to the first two to three weeks on water-only...................
