I cannot tell you whether DMPS or EDTA would be a better option for you. I to have a leaky gut, chronic candida and malabsobsorption problems as well. Cutler does state that for people like myself chelating is the only option to clear the metals out. Here's a handy link that might give you some ideas about what the Cutler Protocol entails.

You should also consider posting on the frequent dose chelaying boards on Yahoo! about your health probs and see what responses you get. DMPS IV's might very well be the way foward for yourself. But make ceratain that you research the IV route properly before considering this form of therapy. I'm about to start the Cutler protocol with a very low dose of DMSA. It's to start low and see what reaction occur. C
