I love the way you understand that part of Ezekiel, the things slayed--old young women, children etc. being "thoughts, beliefs, ideas, things new and old, cherished and not". There may be hardly anything left of us but what is left, if we are God's is eternal. In 1 Corinthians 3:15 If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

But, it doesn't have to be that way: 1 Corinthians

10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it.
11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Revelations claims to be prophetic and uses that word over and over, why? We know this current world is not our true home, we are told that the Kingdom of God is within us. Is that Heaven? Or is that Jesus? Then what are chapters 21, and 22 revealing? Sorry about all the questions, I have a lot more of them than answers (: --I also am in the habit of reading a lot of things from back to front. I confess I did not read the entire book of Revelations last night. I will though if you want to talk about it more.

I read a lot of other books and find many things easier to relate to in them. I was looking at some of them because I am getting rid of a lot of stuff and deciding what to keep. "Reaching For The Invisible God", "The Ragamuffin Gospel", "The Sacred Romance", "Surprised By Joy" are on the keep pile among others.
