 Yeah, I've always been afraid of being diabetic but never got checked. Honestly don't really know how. Just a test you get done at the docs office I would assume?

That would be the best way.  There is not much too it.  You will need to fast before the test and they will likely run a few tests such as A1C and fasting blood glucose.
