I have poor muscle tone on my calves, actually everywhere, and it's even poorer due to being on crutches for the last 5 weeks. The PA-C mentioned that he doesn't want to see the infection spread to my bones. Where the infection is on my lower calve, I only have a small amount of tissue between it and my calve bone - I'd say maybe 1/2". No one told me how much chance I have of losing a leg. They seem to think it will be OK, but none the less, I am scared out of my mind. My mind is working over time.

I called my sister and I'm afraid I scared her too. I didn't realize I'd scare her so much. I was looking for some kind of relief, someone to talk to.

If I'm wrong to feel this way, please, someone tell me. I'm in fear I'll lose my lower leg. I think the PA-C may have a good idea to do nothing to the wound right now and let the Antibiotics do their work.

If it looks better tomorrow it will sure help my mood a little bit, or even a lot. Would looked awful today - it was as red as it ever was but it seems to look a little better tonight. I'm sorry to be in the limelight but I'm totally scared, really down and worried.
