I agree with most of what you say, though I disagree with the idea of a dysfunctional immune system. What if the immune system is operating just as it should?
If you consider the possibility immune system is reacting to stress/irritants and that the stress/irritants are still present and continuing, such as asbestosis, where the irritating fibre is still present as the body cannot dissolve or remove it. This cancer then is the body's healing response to the irritant, much like a pearl in an oyster. Many cancers have an emotional irritant as the primary cause, in these case an added component that leads to cancer is the inward dwelling on the emotional irritant, that is to say that the 'wound' is in the past and it is still present and occurring as the event that caused the wound and subsequent meanings and beliefs attached, become a theme to the person’s life.
So primarily the cause of cancer is a constant stress/irritant, and the cancer is the constant but vain attempt at healing. In fact the stress gets healed and as such there is wound healing tissue, scarring but the person dwells on the past (as there was no resolution) and wound opens up again and more healing and scarring and on and on it goes.
it is interesting to note that Blind people only have about 10% incidence of cancer, those with downs syndrome, bi polar and schizophrenics have a lower of incidence of cancer. Do they have a less dysfunctional immune system? Or are they more present day focused?
Cheers
