I am so glad we found common ground. I'm sad to hear that you were hurt as a kid. I'm grateful that you can trust me enough to share it. Glad you found your way back to God, so many people don't.
I appreciate that we were able to talk this out. When I look at it we were both able to stay humble, and I think that is what allowed us to make peace over our differences. Humbleness is a characteristic of the spirit of God. So despite our differences we are sisters. I believe we were both motivated to help and protect each other and I appreciate that.
I attend two churches, Christ Community in my home town and Living Hope community church in my current place of residence.
I am not sure how my original post got onto this forum. I posted it in the christian debate forum, and it was copied onto her by mode. I don't know if that is something i did by accident. I do respect that this is a place of support for Christians and a place for trying to apply the bible to
daily struggles. Not a debate forum.
Any further discussion on Word of Faith would be better held there or perhaps in a blog since it is as you said a hot issue. I hope this was not too disruptive here.
I have to say I still love Bill Johnson, though he has his faults like we all do. Perhaps he is not for some new believers. I see Christ working in him and his teaching has been of great benefit in drawing me closer to God. You gave me a lot to think about, and I learned about this Word of Faith movement. I was first introduced to the charismatic movement as a child of 7 and over that time have been in all different reactions to it. Perhaps I can write about my experiences with it and with word of faith in another forum or in a blog. I love it now, but I can totally relate to not loving it. Thanks so much that we were able to handle this in such a positive way. This is Christ showing through both of our lives.
Grace
