Hi Sara,

Since you are researching anti-cancer teas you might also want to look in to chagas (betulinic acid), turkey tail mushrooms, chaparral, pau d' arco (primarily for leukemias, lymphomas and polycythemia), turmeric, andrographis and dulse to name a few.  The best anticancer herbs will generally have strong antimicrobial properties, especially against viruses.

Herbs can also be used to target other specific aspects of cancer such as myrrh gum powder can be used as a hyaluronidase inhibitor to prevent cancer metastases. Nettle blocks the glucose lactic acid cycle starving cancer cells similar to hydrazine sulfate.  Juniper berry can be used to lower glucose also helping to starve cancer cells.  Ashwagandha is a angiogenesis inhibitor to block the formation of blood vessels to tumors.   Suma is the highest herbal source of organic germanium, which helps cells utilize oxygen properly.  Black walnut hull is a mitosis inhibitor, due to the juglone content,  which helps prevent division of cancer cells.  Yucca root contains sterols that rip cholesterol from cancer cell membranes killing cancer cells.  Licorice root also contains sterols and also increases cancer fighting interferon.  Amla berry raises levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD), which forms cancer fighting and white blood cell activating peroxides.  Rooibos tea has a SOD -like compound that works just like SOD.  Poke root provides an interferon-like compound, but should only be used with supervision.  There are numerous plants that also contain immune stimulating polysaccharides and other anti-cancer compounds.  The more ways that the cancer can be targeted in a formula the more likely cancer cells will be inhibited and killed and the less likely they will be to build up a tolerance to the therapy.

Take care,

James
