I see "common sense" as culturally acquired and often infused with norms and memes that are either consciously or unconsciously accepted without question while logic is the application of a learned analytical process, often utilizing mathematical or scientific principles, methods and knowledge, to learn and understand what is unknown.
I would invite you to read Carl Sagan's works and in particular, "The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark" which might enlighten you with ways to distinguish between valid Science and pseudoscientific dribble. Another insightful book would be Michael Shermer's "Why People Believe Weird Things: Pseudoscience, Superstition, and Other Confusions of Our Time" which explores the origins in the human mind of irrational beliefs.
