If one take Iodine in larger dosages, the magnesium deficiency that probably more than 80 % of the western population has, may flare up like fireworks; palpitations, tics, insomnia, muscle tensions, cramps and pains etc.
I have had all of them; most are gone completely, but it took some time, like 2 years to get my levels up.

Magnesium deficiency also is involved in kidney stones and pain; a complaint often heard of here at the forum.
Plus; magnesium has a strong link to enzyme function, and without enzymes nothing works within the body; nothing!
Digestion enzymes, endocrine enzymes ++ are magnesium dependent.
But; for the magnesium to work properly; vit B6 and boron are needed (the former for uptake, the latter for balancing magnesium, calcium and vit D.
