Oh yes I often eat the miso soup because my girlfriend often makes it!
I might try and suggest your method to see if that can make it more healthy though! Personally I don't cook so I have no idea how she makes it.

Also, a lot of restaurants serve it with the meal. But again, it's probably not made the way you just described.
