"fermentation happens a lot in my fridge, lol just unsupervised..."
LOL! I hear ya, there! lololol That's funny.
It's funny you mentioned the cukes. I just bought two of those myself, just today! (Along with a bag of apples). I thin-sliced the cukes and put them into the juice from the emptied bread and butter pickle jar from which my family finished off. Yum - I eat them by themselves.
I do like kombucha tea, and still have some in my downstairs fridge - (some of them exploded in there, as they continued to ferment)...but it's good...I like it. I cheated, though. I didn't make it; I bought it. hee hee
Here lately, however, I've just taken up with eating raw again - I keep trying. I'm actually on day three, and managed to stay 100% successful (sans the very little amount of pickle juice I had today). Tomorrow I start the three-day Edgar Cayce apple diet. You can "eat as many as you want" per day, but at least 5 or 6 a day, and plenty of water and rest. Then, on the third day, you have 2 or 3 tsp of cold-pressed olive oil at bedtime.
Cayce said it's good for one to do a few times a year, or several times a year - I imagine it's Cayce's version of cleansing the gallbladder and liver.
That will mean 6 days in of 100% raw so I hope to continue. Time will prove that out. The longer one can go with a good thing, the longer one can stay committed. My gut needs it.
The cool part is that if I need a "change", my kombucha tea is also raw...AND fermented. It's all good.
