No you aren't doing anything wrong IMO.

I also doubt it has to do with CA drops.

Most of the suppliers now, are carrying 1 to 1 activator.

This isn't uncommon, "not the norm", but not unheard or.
I believe it could be some chemicals that remained in your system from your work.

You could try a bentonite/montmorillonite bath at night.
It will help with odor on your skin, and can draw and bind many chemicals, and toxins in your skin and tissues.

If you have any doubts at any time however, back off, or stop.
