Look into the Paragaurd it is the non-hormonal I.U.D. what makes it work is a copper filiment that causes the PH in your uterus to become more alkaline or acidic (I can't remember which) than normal, and makes the lining or your uterus uninhabitable for a fertalized egg to implant its self, that is, IF the semen actually manage to survive the enviroment, which they are not known to do.  It is completely side-effect free, the only complications that are possible like mirena are the perforated uterus and expulsion.  Otherwise, no hormones = no mood swings, weight gain, or hair loss (which btw, holy poop, I am so glad I got the paragaurd).  I've had mine in for about 6 years now, and it's good for another 4-6 years.  Naturally, you'll experience cramping upon its insertion, and possibly a heavier than normal period and some breakthrough bleeding for the first 3 months (I just had slighly heavy periods and rough cramps for the first 2-3 months).
