Hello Mmsdebunked,
Dr. Hesselink assembled a good collection of references on the various uses of chlorine dioxide, in industry. While his theory needs a lot of work, I can assure you that the industrial applications have been well studied and peer reviewed.
Not only that, they work, and work very well.
The issue is that all of the applications, except for 3, do not involve the body. There are a couple of topical applications that are used with animals, but while the trials with animals are more informal, they have been peer reviewed by animal experts.
The giant leap of faith comes when it is suggested that these chemicals will work inside the body in the same way that they do outside the body. That is what this debate is all about.
The debate over Miracle-Mineral-Supplement is easy. The protocol is flawed, the claims of efficacy are outrageous, the claims of results are unverified, the chemistry misunderstood, the side effects misunderstood, the lack of testing for safety, and the list goes on and on. On top of this when you throw in the church aspect and the additional miracle chemicals that are introduced to enhance the original one and this whole thing gets crazy.
Dr. Hesselink makes this comment:
"Low dose oxidant exposure to living red blood cells induces an increase in 2,3-diphosphoglycerate levels inside these cells. This attaches to hemoglobin (Hb) in such a way that oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) more readily releases oxygen (O2) to the tissues throughout the body."
If this statement is true, then it is possible that oxidation can benefit the body.
