You're welcome:)

haha- the accupunture clinic. You should have just told them that you wanted some energy work. You could've gotten a good buzz:)

Bring this info to the doctor that you are seeing.... you can even print out some info for him/her. If I were you I would use the doctor's willingness to listen to you or NOT indicate whether or not you will be employing him/her.

Unless it's a critical situation I would avoid Antibiotics . That's probably what created this situation in the first place!

We're on the right track with fermented foods, feeding good bacteria, etc.

I was searching for the study re: recolonization rates of vaginal flora post- iodine(have not found, yet, but I DID find this nugget. Apparently your vaginal flora( lack/imbalance of) will lead to UTIs. So you need to get the good bacteria to the vagina... This is worth looking into, I think:

"The classic studies of Stamey showed the great importance
of prior vaginal colonisation with pathogenic bacteria in
women suffering from UTI and the significance of the persist-
ence or reappearance of these organisms in the causation of
recurrence of infection.28 The protective role of the normal
vaginal flora, particularly lactobacilli, is gradually being
accepted. Raz showed the importance of vaginal oestrogen
replacement with associated lactobacilli repopulation and
reduction of UTI in a cohort of post-menopausal women.29

It is now known that spermicidal agents can kill hydrogen
peroxide producing lactobacilli, leading to enhanced vaginal
colonisation by uropathogens. This is one reason for inclusion
of L rhamnosus GR-1 in a probiotic formulation as it resists
spermicides."

Bacteria replacement therapy (bacteriotherapy)

"This method uses harmless bacteria to replace BV-causing bacteria, and is considered natural and without side effects. Lactobacilli bacteria are used, either given orally or applied vaginally. Unfortunately, not all strains of lactobacilli are able to adhere well onto the vaginal wall.

The lactobacilli group found in yogurt doesn’t seem to stick very well to the vaginal wall. The L crispatus and L jensenii showed better ability to adhere compared with other lactobacilli strains. A medical study reported that normal flora vagina can be regained following a combination of oral and vaginal lactobacilli replacement therapy for 60 days. There are now studies to examine the effectiveness of vaginal pessaries containing L crispatus in repopulating the vagina with lactobacilli.

Vaginal maintenance therapy

Before the normal vaginal microflora balance is restored and able to maintain the vaginal pH naturally, it is necessary to maintain the slightly acidic vaginal pH through external aid. This is to prevent overgrowth of BV-causing pathogens in the vaginal environment that worsens the condition. One study showed that by using intravaginal lactate gel, 88% of women with recurring bacterial vaginosis were able to eliminate BV compared to only 10% of women who didn’t use the vaginal maintenance therapy."

so...look for a vaginal suppository containing L crispatus and L jensenii, I don't know if that is available over the counter or not~

hmmm, maybe not, but if you follow this link there is contact info on the page. I would contact Ann Stapleton if I were you~!
