Thank you so much Wombat. I almost cried when I read that you were proud of me for trying to puke up the pill; my whole family now thinks I am crazy and they are all pressuring me to just take the Cipro.

I called my doctor on Monday and told her assistant that I am not comfortable with Cipro and asked if we couldn't try another Antibiotic like Amoxicillin which has a better safety record. The message that was relayed back to me by her assistant was that Cipro is specific for kidneys and is the drug of choice for kidney infections. Amoxicillin according to her is not as strong, and "might not work." Plus she said I would have to take it for much longer. (She's already prescribed me Cipro for 20 days, which to me seems excessively long anyways, especially for such a poisonous drug.) Of course I wouldn't want to take any Antibiotic for a month or longer and have it "not work," so she's pretty much discouraged me from Amoxicillin, and she won't even discuss other Antibiotics . Your thought about the legal protection could be right on here, maybe she's trying to protect herself.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. I always try to take care of things naturally, but I've had this ongoing kidney infection for probably 2 years, and I've tried everything I can think of and can't kick it. I just spent another $50 at the health food store today for some Oregano Oil, Olive Leaf and a bunch of raw garlic, so I'll try those, along with lots of water, probiotics etc. If that doesn't work I guess I'll have to try to get a different doc to prescribe me an Antibiotic I'm more comfortable with.

I definitely don't want to end up dead or on dialysis! LOL. That darn Western medicine is just not very helpful or safe, but I guess that's why we are all here at CZ!
