I had this same problem with my lower left wisdom tooth. The guy injected me about 5 times with anaesthetic to try and numb the the pain. The pain during the operation was at the top end of what I could physically tolerate without punching him in the face. I was quite literally dripping with sweat by the time had finished torturing me. It wasn't until after that I learnt what this meant. Anaesthetic only works in a certain pH band. Acidity stops it from working.

Read the part that says
LOCAL ANAESTHETICS ARE INEFFECTIVE IN INFECTED TISSUE (ACIDIC).
If that happens you have a pretty large infection, most likely anaerobic (the worst kind). This is what happened to me, I had a massive bone infection (anaerobic). If theres no one with a cavitat there, try and get an MRI done with STIR imaging. You can find cavitations that way, well that's what it says on
