Hi Everyone,
I saw a brillant shooting star last night while telescoping. There were a few sleepy clouds around and the shooting star just seemed to fall right through them. I also saw a very fast moving satellite as well as the moon and two planets.
Pretty spectacular I thought, with flashes of blue and tinges of orange. The surface on this particular object was greyish. The surface appeared to have what I would describe as slowly moving clouds, darker than its surface. The object appeared to be a bulging type of almond, in shape. Cant wait to be out again to view and discover.
It's amazing that while your viewing through the telescope, you get a sense of the rotation of the Earth through how the object your observing slowly moves out of your view. Just love it.
Thought I'd pop up this interesting site as well. Some interesting news to find there.
