My left big toe has been hurting for the past week. At first I figured it was the tight shoes I was wearing. So I tried to wear other shoes that didn't put the pressure on the toe.

Redness first started on the side of the toe.
Now it is under the nail.

It seems infected. I'm not sure if it is just an infection.
Or an ingrown toe nail?
Gout?
Or something else?

Please, what this is, and what is a good solution/cure?
