I read some time ago that there is a protocol used by naturapaths whereby 3% hydrogen peroxide is added to a distilled water IV with lidocain as a treatment for emphysema.

It seems that the the accumulated and hardened mucus in the lungs are expelled, providing relief, causing the patient not to require bottled oxygen.

I cannot remember where I read this, but I would start a google serach and follow up with phone calls until you enough information to make an informed descision.
