It's a probiotic drink kind of like yogurt (for milk) & a bubbly tart "soda" for water kefir. The link below has lots of info for all things cultured (and no, I'm not affiliated w/them in any way....just like the site). You can order grains from them, or on amazon or from http://www.kefirlady.com.
