Thanks for posting, monsterlip, and everyone else who has contributed to this discussion and experiment. Many will receive yours and any other cure claims skeptically for several reasons:

1) They will try the treatment routine and see that there is no visible progress within a couple weeks, and return to their previous management routine, usually involving topical treatment or forced exfoliation.

2) Most people who have cure claims that do see progress don't ever follow up and say what happens when they stop the treatment routine, or if they are "irreversibly" "cured." A notable exception is montrealhomegrown, who has admitted that his condition returned when he fell off his strict diet. As most veterans of the condition know, there are several treatments which tend to hyperexfoliate the skin, making it appear cured in the short term but exacerbating it in the long term.

3) Sufferers don't have enough information to compare histories with people who claim to be cured. This is why it is important to list everything you can think of that may have caused your condition, and everything you've already tried, or are currently trying.

4) There are multi-level marketing scams that pop up on curezone and people out to make a profit off our suffering and desperation to try just about anything.

I coincidentally had begun your routine a couple weeks ago after discovering that having no topical treatment achieved slight progress, and have been hoping for an opportunity to really go for it, as I work in close proximity to children. I have been clipping the dead skin and peeling weekly, but the condition isn't really noticeable until the last couple days of the cycle.

Finally now I have summer vacation to keep my mouth shut and my stress levels down, and let the skin rebuild slowly but surely (I hope). I wish the culture of the US was amenable to people wearing flu masks out of season, but I think I will just try not to care about people who stare at me, and try to get outside to the wilderness as much as possible. I think time spent on the Internet late at night needs to be reduced and solid sleep needs to be increased as well.

It's possible that this cure may only work for people who've had the condition a year or less, and there is some more permanent switch flipped in the rest of our skin cells. I sincerely hope that's not the case, but I imagine the longer we've had it, the longer it will take to "relearn" how to grow skin properly. Would be great to have more information from this Japanese dermatologist about the case histories of his/her patients.

Good luck to all, and I hope you find your peace sooner rather than later. It could always be worse. Seriously.

-C.S.
