Most people I have seen that are very sick with mercury toxicity are in the 6.25-25mg range. Those who aren't as sick usually tolerate 50mg or so. I personally can't tolerate more than 12.5mg or the side effects are too bad. So I am sticking with 12.5mg ALA until I am ready to increase to 18mg.
