Don't use EDTA. It does a much better job of removing necessary minerals than removing lead. DMSA is the way to go to remove lead. Use the Cutler protocol, taking it every 4 hours for 3 or 4 days, then 3 or 4 days off and repeat. Take the DMSA on an empty stomach, as taking it with food greatly decreases absorption. I usually eat quickly half an hour after taking DMSA, so enough time will elapse after eating before the next dose. Start off slowly, as taling too much too soon can cause diarrhea. a good starting dosage is 1/4 mg per pound body weight, then eventually build up to 1 mg per pound body weight every 4 hours.
