You are not alone and I have more correspondence about this condition than any other issue. There wasn't a symptom within your description that justify a diagnosis of pancreas or gallbladder. It is usually a mechanical problem but you haven't got a doctor experienced enough to find it. It is usually diagnosed by history.

First of all think back to a time just before you remember it starting and try to remember an event that could have strained you upper abdomen. Lifting, falling, coughing, etc.

If you lay on your back on the floor and feel quite gently down the centre line from the breast bone to the navel you may be able to feel a tender point, usually about half way. It may be a inch (2cm) either side of the centre line. There may even be a slight swelling.

Somewhere there is a strain, tear, hernia or cyst that is tugging on a critical ligament; usually the falciform which supports the liver. It can also be caused by elevated portal blood pressure. The anomaly can radiate pain at a level which is far disproportionate to the injury.

Exercise or any type doesn't help and the only relief is to lay down. This allows the organs to fall away from the abdominal wall. Walking is the about the best therapy. It can also be "controlled", to a degree, by eating small easily digestible meals, and avoid those foods that cause bloating, such as carbohydrates. (Note that these conditions have a reputation of causing false food intolerances )

The injury interferes with the gastric nerve and/or blood supply to the organs and this causes them to perform poorly.
