Let me work backwards. The latest development w/ me is that I'm having normal BM's w/out having to take probiotics every day. 4-5 days since my last capsules. I think this is due mostly to eating sauerkraut every day. I bought some miso and I add it to the jar of sauerkraut. Been doing that for about 10 days. Prior to this I had to have probiotics daily. And prior to that I had fluffy, soft stool. More on sauerkraut in a future post (it's more than the sum of its parts).
Aside from portion size and frequency, I'm really not restricted, so describing my diet now wouldn't be that helpful. But to answer your question: I eat grains, I just keep wheat and gluten to a minimum. I eat fruit everyday just about. There is def. a line to be crossed w/ fruit, too much will cause me to itch, but I haven't crossed it in a couple of months, if it's still there. I almost never eat potatoes. I do eat french fries though, the greasier the better. That reminds me--the reason that doug graham has got it backwards is b/c it's not about what happens in the BLOODSTREAM regarding carbs and fats, it's what happens in the stomach and small intestine, long before stuff makes it to the blood. Fats and oils taken w/ carbs and sugars slow down the feeding of the GI candida...
Anyway, these really aren't "brain" decisions now they're really more "gut" decisions, pun intended I guess. The things I had to stop to get here were sugar, flour, dairy and beer.
Trickiest thing to give up was bread. To give it up is to give up a lot of convenience (sandwiches, sopping up juices and sauces). I ate it every day for 40 years, our bodies get addicted to it. I avoid that most of all now, except for "evol" burritos. The worst offender for me was ice cream, probably b/c it's both dairy and high sugar. That was easy to give up b/c I only had it 1x or 2x a week. I eat giant bowls of it now just to see where I stand. The general category of dairy, though, was tougher, I cut out 98% of it.
Also, I spontaneously stopped drinking beer long before I even knew what candida was. I would take a sip and get this weird hunch that something was going on w/ my liver, like it was unable to process it. Still haven't drunk a beer in over 3,4,5 years. I'll be trying that in the future.
Anyway, I've posted before on the "slowly-turning-the-screws" method: //www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1748233#i
, something to do after you've done an intense McCombs style plan. Cont'd...
