I have read in some cases autistics often become absolute genuises in later life. Any idea why, is it to do with their neurotransmitters being out of whack?
I have heard this for a long time as well. What I heard way back is that in some forms of autism the person has lost their sensory filters causing their brains to be overloaded with sensory input. As a protective mechanism they "withdrawal" in to one side of the brain, which can affect their creativity or math skills.
Also, is there anyway / supplements to take to become more intelligent? I.e. allow you to get that edge and learn things that before you couldnt have, new skills, new languages etc. I bet there are some minerals/vits/supps that can help somewhere.
Phospholipids from lecithin are the best since they play a big role in the production of brain tissue and acetylcholine. Fatty acids also help a lot, in particular EPA/DHA. As for herbs my favorites are periwinkle (Vinca minor), gotu kola and bacopa.
