No doubt about it, some of us have run the gauntlet in our attempts to lower BP. Often we have to find what works best for us.
12 yr ago I did IV EDTA chelation, but my arteries must not have been clogged. I do not regret the therapy, as other benefits were had… just not BP. I did try the “orange juice fast” and after 6 days brought the BP down, but did not stay with it. That told me that a more raw, fresh fruits and veg diet must help. I also use herbal relaxants when anxieties run high. Loss of weight along with exercise is always mentioned and something I need to do after a long inactive winter. Currently on a low dose beta blocker and a water pill.
Last week my mother received an advertisement [the guy was selling a newsletter] and under BP mentioned “insulin resistance”. Went home and did a Google search of it along with hypertension in the search box. Lots of info. Made some sense, since something in our diet/environment must have slowly crept up on us, such as HFCS, MSG, fast food, box mixes, etc. Then too, what about the lack of nutrients in the foods and soils in just the last 50 yr and its affect on how our body functions. On that subject, my daughter suggested a Canadian product, shipped from Utah called Empower Plus by True Hope, to see if it would help inherited anxiety [check videos from their site, http://www.truehope.com
]. No mention as a BP solution from the company. It is a vitamin, mineral, herbal pill. I wish that it was derived from more natural sources, but it seems to be reducing my anxiety some and BP to the mid-130’s where before it was in the high 150’s the month before.
