Due to the body's own homeostatic mechanisms it is important to put statements in their proper perspectives.
All over the world baking soda is part of autoimmune and anti viral protocols.
It is heavily recommended on Earthclinic and many testimonials claim efficacy against Lupus and other inflamatory conditions.
HV is correct. Saliva ph does not tell you blood ph which is maintained in very narrow range. It does not tell you to which degree and extent cancer cells ferment glucose and absorb oxygen which is driven by membrane polarity and sometimes ph. The sodium just doesn't enter cancer cells very easily and cancer still has sodium pump.
My question to cancer patients is "SO your ph is 8.5 using baking soda, how much of that sodium is actually crossing the cancer membrane?"
The answer is "I don't know"
So, having been endorsing heavy metallic salts for years, heavily alkaline stuff for cancer, seeing cesium IV's, ALK-V6 a silica/silver colloid, baking soda, I have not seen any life threatening conditions that are more dangerous than the cancer itself. I have seen nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and tachycardia. All of which need immediate attention.
ALso, many Lyme toxins and yeast toxins are alkaline and a person can feel even worse after eating alkaline fruits or taking alkaline products.
So, for cancer I don't recommend baking soda but if you are taking it, take it responsibly, using plenty of water, tracking heart rate, monitoring for flank pain.
Do not continue baking soda if you experience diarrhea.
Do not chug your baking soda but take it over time.
For cancer, it can help with pain of uric acid leakage into tissues, it can slow spread, but heavier salt is needed to actual affect cancer cell metabolism.
I only make these statements because I have been supervising cancer and autoimmune patients for years and have personal knowledge and have witnessed their implementation.
Townsend letter states the viruses don't do well with sodium
so if your auto immune is viral related, maybe that's why dozens and dozens of people feel better using baking soda.
Frankly, I like the idea of using baking soda to activate phenols, tannins, fatty acids, flavenoids. I like the idea of adding raw unfiltered ACV with baking soda and actually I use this every other day as maintenance.
