We can look at it this way:
In 1970's someone said that peptic ulcers and acid reflux and similar digestive problems were probably caused by a bacteria (H. pylori). If at that time they looked around to see what were people doing in those countries with highest prevelance of those diseases, they would find about Mastic gum, oregano, turmeric, cinnamon, garlic, parsley and they all eat probiotic yogurt daily... which when combined can cure it.
But we had to wait some 25 years for someone to finally agree that ulcers and gastric problems are really always caused by the one and same bacteria - H. pylori.
However, to this day, there are doctors who "don't believe in" H. pylori and who don't care to research how to treat it successfully. Those more aware, prescribe triple Antibiotic therapy, and if it doesn't work - oh, well. Instead of prescribing what has been working for centuries, in this case - natural stuff.
Candida is different in sense that it is not a pathogen, but humankind never took so many Antibiotics , never ate this type of horrible food, and never had communal petri dishes (hospitals) where people could get infected for life with some other more nasty type of Candida).
sorry for the rant...
