Seems there is never a straight-forward reply to what I got/have...

Amongst other things, I had large tapes in intestine. And also Hymenolepis nana in the intestine.

And I am from the drugs AND alternative herbals AND supplements camp. So I used all 3.

The herbs I used were from an alternative Tibetan doctor I see. I tried things like Paragone without success. And by tried Paragone, I mean I took the whole treatment as recommended for 2 months. It suggests increasing the dosage day over day. Then for one month I took the maximum dose everyday (like 40 drops of Black-Walnut 2 times a day etc). Anyhow it did nothing for me. The Tibetan meds do help.

For supplements I take: MSM, iodine, Vit B, Vit C, DMAE, ALA, Coenzyme 10, Zinc, Vit D. And 14 HealthForce Nutritionals, Digestion Enhancement Enzyme each day -- they have lots of bromelain and protease to boost the immune system.

The Hymenolepis nana are the skinny transparent one inch to 6 inch tapes that people on the forum have referred to. On the one hand they are relatively easy to eliminate from the gut. Like pinworms, children often have them. But they are really contagious. And I did not know I had them until then exited and then all misery broke loose.

Most big tapes cannot reproduce in the human body. They need an external host (like a snail or something). That is to say that we humans become infected with the larvae once they have passed though an intermediate host. The larvae of the big tapes can be dangerous. And yes, if the large tapes disseminate then you get larvae imbedded in other areas...most dangerous would be the brain. But if you can get the tape head in the gut then you are home free. I got the heads with repeated treatments of prazi as well as everything else over months.

Hymenolepis nana can reproduce in the human body. And each egg grows into a worm that can fertilize itself so one egg can reproduce. They grow to adult size in a few days. I got them in my sinuses. When the worm breaks the microscopic eggs can become airborne. This took months and months to clear...at least I think I am now clear. But I will need months to see what is left now.

Protocols for disseminated large tape larvae:
For the gut, I used prazi, herbals and supplements.

For disseminated larvae, I would have taken albendazole, herbals, and supplements--if I had had that. But best to ask others who did have this what they used I think.
