I would try the oil and see if it helps, and just take a small amount of the dust and work it into the scalp, trying to avoid the ends of your hair, since it makes it feel dry. If you just use a little and rub it in gently you should be fine, you can always put a scarf around your mouth and nose while you do it, then put the scarf on your head to let it sit for a time. But, try the oil, really, it is amazing, I put it on my scalp and it felt great, even if you don't have the mites, this will feel good massaged into your head.
