Sounds to me that you have a weakened sphincter muscle, have you tried kegel/sphincter exercises for a prolonged period of time? My problem i think was because my sphincter wasnt closing properly because of a hemmerhoid.If your sphincters not closing properly or damaged in some way then the smell will be coming from your lower bowel which smells bad in EVERYONE.

If the door is open smells will seep out.

Your wife has hemorrhoids. These are swollen veins in the ass -- not rosebuds, dear. They are gonna be somewhat stinky simply due to their location. Hemmies can actually keep the anus from closing completely which can allow some anal leakage; the can even just let the odor from the walls of the rectum seep out. There is shit in there on a regular basis you know, so it's gonna smell like shit.

Sitz baths might be beneficial to her. If not for the smell, they at least should be soothing to the 'roids and allow for some shrinkage. Witch-hazel ointments, medicated pads, Preparation-H cream and other over-the-counter medications can also be used to try to get rid of the hemorrhoids.

In the meantime, just simply wiping with a fresh-scented moist towelette and applying absorbent talcum powder or feminine deodorant spray might cut down the foulness.

The reason why you smell the worst after a BM is because your sphincter muscle isnt closing completely and smells from the lower bowel and rectum walls are seeping out. BTW everyone has Incomplete evacuation, my brother was talking about how he thought he had a golf ball lodged in his ass the other day but he didn't smell, cos his sphincter was closed.


I remember years ago i never used to care about cleaning that far up and i never smelled all of a sudden when i got the hemmorhoid i got a lot of pain and the smell as well. It always felt open there and i hated people standing behind me.
