I found this tidbit wandering around Earth Clinic (one of Gina's favorite sites and mine to). Apparently Absorbine Jr has won rave reviews from everyone who tried it on ringworm (tinea) It actually CURED the condition penetrating and killing all the fungus instantly. After some ingredient checking I can see why, it's the IODINE!
Athletes foot resides in the dead skin cells(the only part you can see) but the topicals they keep selling over and over again at the drug store only treat the very top layers of dead skin cells thus giving control but never a cure unless it is caught right away before infecting too deeply.
Absorbine Jr PENETRATES DEEPLY as that is what it has been known for since 1892! Maybe some other expert here can point to some other effective ingredients below but it was just the Iodine that caught my eye.
Perhaps the same result could be achieved by combining Lugols with DMSO?
Also speaking of dishonesty at the drug store why don't they put Absorbine Jr next to the topical anti-fungals?
Oh Yea, repeat business is more profitable and has a better future, it's the same as the doctor business. There's no money in providing a cure.


Ingredients of Absorbine Jr

The active ingredient in Absorbine Jr.® liniment is 1.27% natural menthol. Other ingredients include calendula extract, echinacea extract, absinthium oil, acetone, chloroxylenol, IODINE, Wormwood extract, POTASSIUM IODIDE, thymol, water and coloring agents FD&C blue number 1 and yellow number 6.
