For one thats barely any iodine, the japanese take 13mg a day on average. I'm not totally defending iodine, sometimes Iodine makes me feel better, esp at first then it sometimes makes me feel worse, could be detox, could be worsening my thyroid, those on Iodine forum say its the former. i can't take it continously only a couple of weeks at a time at most but when i do its a high dose. I do know my tsh was 3 before i touched Iodine and the last test 5 months ago it was 0.9, when i take iodine its 100-180mg a day (of iodine in the form of lugols), but like i say only a few days or a week or too.
Not nice of you to call them QUACKS either, iodine has helped them and improved their thyroid issues, most of them are just sharing the info. I know it is said to fix your adrenals before tackling the thyroid but adrenals need iodine too apparently so i dunno.
Taking iodine without selenium can make a selenium deficiency worse, and if you had read the FAQ over at iodine you would have read the importance of taking the companion supplements with the iodine. Selenium is also essential for the thyroid as well.
