I am very happy to report that my 10 year old daughter's guttate p is fully cleared up after her bout of strep throat in late December. I was really stressed out because she was covered in spots and things were getting worse by the day. I read about trying glycerin in this forum and thought I would give it a try. We also met with the derm and decided to try UVB light treatments.
Here is what we did and over 5 weeks her skin was fully cleared up.
We stopped the use of any steriods on January 15th after the steriods made things way worse and decided to try a more natural route. Since January 25 we were going for UVB therapy 3 times a week. I changed her diet to one with no gluten, very little sugar, no nightshade vegetables, no red meat or pork, no dairy except 2 eggs per week, no strawberries or citrus. I have also been supplementing her diet with a multi-vitamin, extra calcium, omega 3's, achidopholous, lecithin, coconut oil and vitamin D.
We applied glycerin topically to her skin 2-3 times a day since around January 20th. I noticed a slight difference to her skin after a few days of applications. Then we started the light treatments and her skin showed improvement daily. She really started to clear about 2 weeks later.
Here is the photos showing her progress:
These pictures are from January 25th right before she started UVB light therapy. We had just started glycerin a couple of days before.

This is one week later on February 1st. I continued to apply the glycerin daily and at this point she had only been to 4 UVB therapy treatments. Her lesions were less flaky and reddened a bit.
These were taken on February 16th of the same area. Most of the lesions are flat and have pretty much disappeared except the angrier red lesions in the middle of her left arm and those are getting better each day. The top of her arm is clear with the odd spot still trying to linger. This is after 12 light treatments and our glycerin regimen.
These photos are from February 27 with 17 light treatments sessions to date and daily glycerin applications. She still has some hyperpigmentation on her skin where the spots were so hopefully they will fade over time.
She has been cleared up since the beginning of March and I have not had to apply any more glycerin to her skin in the last 5 weeks. Not one spot has returned and no new spots have appreared.
Glycerin is inexpensive, non toxic and can be found easily at your local drug store usually in the aisle where mineral oil and Epsom Salts can be found. We used the glycerin USP grade and use it full strength.
It has been a God send for my daughter. I am so excited that her skin has cleared up and she is so happy to be able to wear tank tops and shorts without having to worry about her skin.
