From what you've described, it's difficult to assert that the root canal is the cause of hypothyroidism.

But, if we assume that the warmth and throbbing at the root canal is an infection, then it would help explain your problems based on the tooth meridian chart.

Tooth #12 has a relationship with the pituitary posterior lobe and thyroid according to the chart.

If we then consider your high TSH, it may be caused by numerous conditions, but you suspect the root canal tooth with the high degree potential of infection.

If I were you, I would have a high resolution x-ray of that spot checked out for visible signs of infection. But, the only problem is, it may be low grade and difficult to detect. Some infections do not show up on x-rays, but most developed ones DO focus right at the tip of the root canal.
