 Fact is the state of our environment and the standard America diet are loaded with toxins and these toxins create an acidic environment in the body and this is the main reason for almost all diseases!

Toxins can be alkaine as well.  Take for example hydroxides such as magnesium hydroxide, which burns the intestinal wall, or ammonium hydroxide, which is highly toxic to the brain.
