The first 4 days of my 40-day fast was all dry - not one drop of water. Then I spent the weekend hydrating a little. The second week I went another 2 or 3 days dry, then finished that week with drinking very limited water, only as terrible thirst dictated. By my third week I may have done one day without water, but I can't recall for sure. For the remainder of my 40-day fast I drank 8oz or less per day, and only by thirst.
