A chiropractic technique called: Toggler, adjusted my Atlas bone (one that brain stem sits on) and my several days of bad vertigo were gone!
Now, I do have to say, that I believe my neck trauma that caused my vertigo in the 1st place was an over-aggresive chiropractic neck adjustment. I was in much pain and could not even turn my head for days afterward and Ibuprophen did not help. The pain finally was gone, only to turn into vertigo a week later! It was horrible. Spinning anytime I had to bend over, or turn my neck fast, or look up. The worst was trying to lay in bed..impossible flat on my back..as I would spin terribly. I could only lay on my side. Top this with a feeling of being "out of it" or "drunk" all day long!
I went to a differnt chiropractor who adjusted me with the activator ( I will never again do a regular-twisting neck adjustment!) My neck felt better but still had the vertigo. I finally decided to go back to the office where the injury occured, but saw the associate Chiropractor. He told me about the toggler technique and how it would not involve laying on my back..only my side. A table dropped with my head and neck going quickly downward...and that was it..no pain at all. My vertigo is gone! I felt a bit disoriented for a few minutes after the procedure..but not dizzy. I am so grateful! It could have gone on and on! It most likely was not crystals shifting in my inner ear. That can be a cause as well..but the Atlas out of position can reallyl cause vertigo as well. Please look into one of the treatments for the Atlas if you are suffering. Some Chiropractors use a more gentle technique(Atlas Orthogonal) and there may be other types as well! Good luck and may you all be spin free!!!
