I ended up having the surgery done, we are talking now 30 years ago. I had bloody discharge and it was preventive surgery.
The surgery did not sound attractive so I questioned it and at that time the hospital had just hired a plastic surgeon. So the surgeon said he could check with the plastic surgeon since in that way I could get breast reduction at the same time.
My girlfriend told me later that the case was even discussed at Mass General in Boston. Noone ever thought to work with a plastic surgeon.
I know I am an "antique" on CZ but it shows again even that long ago I was questioning things, surgeons were not interested what you would look like after the surgery.
